//About The Artist//

Megan Alannah McBride Miller
was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and resided in parts of south Houston until attending Louisiana State University in 2008. After three years studying graphic design and photography, she earned her license in cosmetology at San Jacinto College and then returned to make Baton Rouge her home in 2013.

MAMM's work integrates balance within unbalance, layering, texture, and color. Drawing inspiration from the elemental symbolism of water and earth, MAMM's artistry is a form of meditation as she sculpts each painting with layers upon layers, allowing the paintings to shape them- selves. Her latest works express a creative freedom that breaks free from the realism of her earlier pencil and charcoal renderings. MAMM's 2D and 3D experiences in graphic design, photography, and chemical composition and shaping in the hair industry have brought multiple creative life experiences together to aid in a composition where paint is the medium and life is the expression.
